Yet Another Call of Duty in the Works?

Activision Blizzard CEO, Bobby Kotick, has installment in the Call of Duty Series. This next Call of Duty is going to be out in 2009, made by presumably Infinity Ward.

Kotick says that franchise will still alternate from developer to developer, possibly confirming that Infinity Ward is on board to create the next game. Infinity Ward has renewed their publishing contract with Activision, community manager Robert Bowling said the renewal “has laid the ground work and kick started our future project, as well as the possibility of a unique new IP by Infinity Ward, that we’ll have complete control over.” This confirms Infinity Ward’s involvement in this new IP or Call of Duty game.

I hope they stick with the modern combat instead of going back to the WW2 genre.
