Around the Hawk: More You-Tube stuff

The following videos are my reactions to the NBA 2K10 My Player mode. You may also relate to this video after playing the game for countless hours and realizing that your career has been glitched. For me, this was the moment where BlazenHawks informed me that after you're sent back down to the D-League, you're stuck there forever.

So, after that moment I went back and downloaded the NBA 2K10 Draft Combine from the marketplace. After playing another 30+ hours playing through an entire NBA season, the game glitched on me again after I went back to the dashboard in the team-select screen. I was beginning to panic...

BlazenHawks has also had the same difficulty with the game. But after trying to play in the My Crew game mode last night as well as a simple My Player Pick-up game and having no games successfully start due to "network problems," Jerhawk finally snapped.

Here's that stupid History final project I was a part of that Stopable wanted to see. I'm Norman As-Sing.

Halo Reach Matchmaking and UI Details

According to details over at Shacknews, new matchmaking and UI features have been reveled.

The first addition is Arena playlists, a set of Slayer and Team Slayer playlists for the more hardcore players, complete with its own ranking system. Ranks will be determined through a variety of factors, and will section off players into one of five groups: Onyx, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Steel. As such, Ranked and Social will now be one combined playlist.

Other improvements come to the lobby system, giving players the power to vote on potential games that come up in matchmaking and an auto-queue feature that lets you join friends immediately after they complete a match. There's even a throwback to Halo 2 in the Active Roster screen, an area that shows all of your friends who are playing the game.

Xbox 360 Getting USB Storage in Future Update

Documentation obtained by XBLN and subsequently confirmed with two separate sources – reveals that "USB Mass Storage Device Support on Xbox 360" will soon be a reality. The document, authored by a senior software development engineer at Microsoft, states that due to "increased market penetration of high-capacity, high throughput USB mass storage devices, a 2010 Xbox 360 system update" will allow consumers to save and load game data from USB devices. The update is purportedly coming in Spring 2010.

Once the update occurs, Xbox 360 owners will be able to download Xbox Live Arcade games, Xbox Live Indie games, Games on Demand, DLC and Title Updates to the storage device.

Perfect Dark XBLA Review

I can't imagine a better way to revive a classic. Perfect Dark has never looked or played better, and anyone who sank a significant portion of their life into the game a decade ago will happily sacrifice even more of their time to do it all again. There is more content to sift through here than just about any other XBLA game. Sure, the voice acting is terrible and its feeble attempts at humor will have you groaning. But Perfect Dark still has one of the best arsenals of any FPS and the gunplay is very satisfying. This version is even closer to perfection than the original was.
IGN Ratings for Perfect Dark (X360)
Rating Description
out of 10
9.0 Presentation
This classic has been lovingly updated for its fans. Perfect Dark on XBLA is one of the best repackagings I've seen.
7.0 Graphics
Perfect Dark looks better than ever and now runs at a solid 60fps, but it is, of course, a 10-year old game.
7.5 Sound
The electro-spy soundtrack holds up pretty well, but the voice acting is just awful.
9.0 Gameplay
Perfect Dark has one of the best arsenals of any FPS and the gunplay is very satisfying.
10 Lasting Appeal
There is an enormous amount of content to work through here, in both single- and multiplayer modes.
9.0
Outstanding

Rumor: Gears of War 3 in April 2011?

Edge Magazine says a source has put a pin in April 2011 as the release window for the third entry in Epic's series -- and we should expect the first teaser trailer next month, on April 8, with a full-on reveal at E3 in June.

"Microsoft's keen to avoid a clash with Halo: Reach and wants Natal to own Christmas," alleges Edge's source. "That's why we won't be seeing Gears Of War 3 until next year, but expect a major marketing push ahead of its release."

Recently, Epic prez Mike Capps hinted at a major game announcement to be made by the studio during E3. Additionally, EA has teased a "Shooter from Epic" due just before April in Q1 2011.

Medal of Honor Trailer

Deus Legend Reacts: Trailer for the New Medal of Honor Game coming this year. Another contender to the MW2 crown. From this trailer, this looks like it can be a solid game. Hopefully a demo for this game will come out before release. But so far, I like what I see.

Rumor: Madden NFL 11 Cover Athlete Announced?

We will file this in the speculation drawer, but the cover athelete for Madden 11 has been chosen. Back in February, it was announced that EA and Doritos will team up and have the fans vote for the Madden NFL 11 cover. This could be stating the obvious but the athlete has been. According to our sources, New Orleans Quarterback, Drew Brees will receive the cover nod. We will see it when EA officially annouces the cover usually around the NFL Draft. So we will see.
