NFL Picks: Season 2, Week 1

Welcome back to NFL Picks. I am your host, Jerhawk, and for the entire 2009/2010 NFL Season, we will be picking the winners of each and every matchup. Here's who I have as being officially entered into this season's NFL Picks series:

Jerhawk
Deus Legend
BlazenHawks
Stopable
KnightnBattle10
xxInspirationxx
JRC865
JohnnyX77
Finch865

If you'd still like to join, please feel free to post a comment with your gamertag, or send one of us a message on Xbox Live.

Here were our results from Season 1 of NFL Picks:

1.) Jerhawk - 187
2.) Stopable - 179
3.) Deus Legend - 173
4.) BlazenHawks - 161
5.) IronHorse555 - 159
6.) JRC 865 - 152
7.) Finch865 - 85

This year I'm going to start us off with a bit of a bang. This week alone has the most point opportunities out of any other week we're going to do all season. Not only will we pick our Week 1 games, I would also like you to pick who you think will win each division. At the end of the season if you're still in the NFL Picks, you will receive 5 bonus points for every divisional winner that you managed to pick correctly. That's not all! We will also be making our Superbowl winner predictions this week. You have a 1 out of 32 chance of getting this one correct. But if you do somehow pick the Superbowl winner, you will receive 10 bonus points at the end of this season. These are game changers people!

First things first though. Here are our Week 1 matchups. For those of you new to the NFL Picks, just simply click the comments button on the upper right hand corner of this post. If you don't have a Google ID or YouTube account name, you can leave yourself as anonymous, but please leave your gamertag within your post so I know who you are. Also, please pick each game in the order that I provide them. Either just say the team name, city name, or something so that I can tell who you picked for the game.

Tennessee @ Pittsburgh (Thursday Night Kickoff Special)

Miami @ Atlanta

Kansas City @ Baltimore

Philadelphia @ Carolina

Denver @ Cincinnati

Minnesota @ Cleveland

N.Y. Jets @ Houston

Jacksonville @ Indianapolis

Detroit @ New Orleans

Dallas @ Tampa Bay

San Francisco @ Arizona

Washington @ N.Y. Giants

St. Louis @ Seattle

Chicago @ Green Bay (Sunday Night Football)

Buffalo @ New England (Monday Night Part 1)

San Diego @ Oakland (Monday Night Sleeper, Part 2)

After you've made your picks for these games, please name your division winners. These will be worth 5 points per division if you get them right at the end of the regular season.

NFC West: Seattle, San Francisco, Arizona, St. Louis

NFC North: Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Minnesota

NFC East: Dallas, Philadelphia, N.Y. Giants, Washington

NFC South: Atlanta, Carolina, Tampa Bay, New Orleans

AFC West: Oakland, Denver, Kansas City, San Diego

AFC North: Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland

AFC East: N.Y. Jets, Miami, New England, Buffalo

AFC South: Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Houston, Tennessee

And finally, after you label your division winners, please give me your Superbowl XIV champion, worth 10 points at the end of our picks if you get it right.

We will also start doing the Upset Special/ 2 Point Conversions in Week 10, when we will make our second and final Superbowl pick. But that's not for a long time.
Just like last year, I will try to make some face comparisons between NFL players and other people. Last year we had Joe Flacco and Zachary Quinto (Sylar from Heroes, Spock from the new Star Trek), Grady Jackson and Big Daddy V (WWE), Brady Quinn and Jerhawk (myself), and I think a few others. What do you guys think of this one?

Seahawks rookie Wide Receiver Deon Butler and Comedian Dave Chappelle.

Please have your picks in before the Kickoff of the Steelers/Titans game on September 10th. Thank you.
