NFL Picks: Super Bowl XLIII

The time has finally come! The Super Bowl is just around the corner, and everything is set and ready to go. Our NFL Picks has also come to a dramatic end.

There were no odd picks for the Conference Championship round, since both games were about even in our picks.

Here are the results from the Conference Championship round alone. Remember each game was worth 4 points each:

Jerhawk / 4
Deus Legend / 4
JRC 865 / 4
Flynn4DaWin / 4
Stopable / 4
xSgt MeatLoafx / 0

Did not pick again: Finch865

Our overall standings heading into the last week of our picks, SUPER BOWL XLIII

1.) Jerhawk / 184
2.) Stopable / 175
3.) Deus Legend / 166
4.) xSgt MeatLoafx / 161
5.) Flynn4DaWin / 159
6.) JRC 865 / 147
7.) Finch865 / 85
8.) El Bos / 7

Jerhawk has clinched the #1 spot and Stopable has clinched the #2 spot. xSgt MeatLoafx can still overtake Deus Legend for 3rd place if they pick differently and MeatLoaf gets the pick correct. Flynn4DaWin can still overtake MeatLoaf if they choose differently as well. Finch865 has clinched the #7 spot, and El Bos has locked up last place with 7 points.

Our Super Bowl picks that we made back in Week 10 have also come to a tragic end. None of our teams will win the Super Bowl!

Jerhawk - Baltimore Ravens (Eliminated by Steelers)
Deus Legend - Atlanta Falcons (Eliminated by Cardinals)
JRC 865 - Tennessee Titans (Eliminated by Ravens)
Flynn4DaWin - Dallas Cowboys (Eliminated before playoffs)
xSgt MeatLoaf - Carolina Panthers (Eliminated by Cardinals)
Stopable - Philadelphia Eagles (Eliminated by Cardinals)
Finch865 - Detroit Lions (This went nowhere fast)

Now the moment we've all been waiting for. The teams have been determined, with all eyes about to be on Tampa, Florida on February 1st. Super Bowl XLIII. Believe in Now.

Arizona Cardinals (12-7)

The potent aerial attack of the Cardinals led by veteran Quarterback Kurt Warner head into Tampa with high hopes and big dreams. After decades of futility and frustration, head coach Ken Whisenhunt will try to defeat his old teams for whom he used to be the offensive coordinator for when they were in and won Super Bowl XL versus the Seattle Seahawks. This is the Cardinals first ever Super Bowl appearance, being the last team since the Seahawks to represent the NFC West in the Super Bowl. Their opponent:

Pittsburgh Steelers (14-4)

With the NFL's #1 ranked defense, the Pittsurgh Steelers look to become the first team to win six franchise Super Bowls. They are currently tied with the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys with five Super Bowl victories. Head coach Mike Tomlin is now the third African American coach to be in the Big Game (Lovie Smith and Tony Dungy were the first two). Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger captains the Steelers tough and dangerous offense. On the other side of the ball, Strong Safety Troy Polamalu along with the help of the NFL defense player of the year, Linebacker James Harrison, look to slow down the Cardinals offense.

Please have your pick in the Saturday before the game (game is on Feb. 1st). We won't pick for the Pro Bowl.

Thank you all who have participated in TheXBLN.com's NFL Picks. I would love to do this again next year! It was a blast, you guys are awesome. Next season we will have a price for the winner!

  5. The last stop for Arizona's bandwagon will be the Super Bowl. After that, they'll all hop off and whine about the game.

Bring on the refs did this and the refs did that BS again. Its not what the refs do, its what the players do. And if the players do something, Mr. Ref will call it accordingly. Whether its Pass Interference, Holding, or making a TD call.

    My Pick:

    Pittsburgh

  6. I'll remember that the next time u complain about the Falcons losing a game and u blame it the refs, as I recall you doing so in the past.
